I’ve edited a lot throughout my life—from Nike emails to friends’ MA theses. From a full-length novel to my dad’s emails. Here’s a sampling.
The Hardship Bazaar by Jeremy Resnick
I had the fortune of copy editing a full-length novel by my friend Jeremy Resnick. The story is wonderful. Go read it!

Asiancy Lunar New Year Card
I’m proud of this project, a celebratory letter sent to 200~ Thesis agency employees. I worked with my talented coworkers from Asiancy, the company’s employee resource group for AAPI people. A huge endeavor pursued on top of regular 9–5 work.
BET Uncovering Black Excellence Series
Members of BET—Black Excellence at Thesis—worked hard to create a campaign celebrating Black figures who’d been neglected by history books. I was happy to participate in this important project. Read the whole series.

Emerging Leaders Website
Emerging Leaders is an amazing organization that provides internships for superstar students of colors at Portland companies. The work may have been pro bono, but I believe helping launch the EL site was among the most important work I’ve done.
Emerging Leaders Interview Series
I took the initiative to create an interview series of former interns because I knew they each had valuable insights. Over the course of a year, I interviewed eight former EL interns who’d landed jobs at Thesis. The process included recording, cleaning transcripts, and receiving feedback from the interviewees. Read the whole interview and others.

Spotify Greenroom Emails
This email series welcoming users to Spotify’s new Greenroom app was presented deck form, requiring from me a balancing act between Google Docs, Google Slides, and Figma. The deck copy required QAing of formatting throughout.
Spotify Greenroom Copy Templates
To reflect the project’s multiple deliverables, I created a multi-column table to enable side-by-side comparison and easy QA. I also added a row for alternative subject lines and preheaders, copy the client requested.

Nike Factory Store Test & Learn Series
Each send of this twelve-week series required three versions for a total of 36 emails. Much of the content was duplicated, but I kept an eye on subtle differences indicating different audiences.
Note that “in-store” is hyphenated even when not preceding a noun. Some words, to me, are always hyphenated regardless of placement. “In-store” is used frequently in retail comms and has become a one-word adjective/adverb.
Nike Factory Store Copy Templates
When I heard we were tasked with a twelve-week campaign, I quickly created a three-column copy template, which became our source of truth. The side-by-side copy ensures consistency and prevents the team going back and forth between docs or overscrolling.

Nike Sneakers of the Week Emails
These weekly emails require short and punchy copy. I also had to confirm shoe names and assets were correct. (Nike has a lot of shoes.)
Note that the styling of “AF-1” was an internal decision to match what appears most in Nike comms. You might see it as “AF1” in some parts of the web.
Nike Sneakers of the Week Copy Templates
Sneakers of the Week is a weekly franchise, so naturally I created a copy template to use week over week. Adding thumbnails to the doc is an extra step in the front end, but it ultimately saves time in the backend when QAing the designs. Definitely don’t want the wrong shoe in there.

Nike.com Homepage
Nike.com is a dynamic hub, and copy and asset changes come in fast. I ensured copy—including styling and placement—was correct across desktop and mobile.
Nike.com Copy Templates
To save us all time and clicks, I merged the copy templates for the homepage, women’s landing page, and men’s landing page. Once implemented, it was hard to believe there was a time before consolidated docs. The side-by-side ensured consistency across pages.

Nike App HBCU Spotlight Series
It was lovely veering from the usual product copy to highlight the achievements of HBCU students. This large cross-channel campaign allowed for longer-than-usual copy, allowing me to flex the editorial editing muscles.
Nike Membership First Access
Each Membership send required multiple deliverables. I edited the copy for each section, checking for style name consistency, and ensured they were placed correctly. We also made Spanish translation final files, for which I mainly checked the product name was correct.

Nike Integrated Media Display Banners
Lots of banners. The copy isn’t difficult to edit (we got four words in the headline), but I also do my part to make sure we have all the requested sizes. Sometimes there are a lot of sizes.
Adobe SEO Articles
These long-form Adobe articles needed to keep their A+ SEO rating but still sound human. I did my fair share of Googling to confirm technical terms and Adobe product names. This was also an instance in which the client already had a thorough style guide to which I needed to conform.

Spotify Deck
Decks, decks, decks! I’ve edited my share of decks, many of them stretching toward 100 pages. I make sure the headlines, subheads, and subsubheads are consistent throughout. Why does this section use bullets but this section not? It’s a lot of clicking and going backwards.
Nike Marketplace Deck
Once I discovered collaborative Keynotes based in the cloud, I pushed for it. Getting the team situated with Apple IDs and latest iOS was tough, but we saw the light. No more downloading and uploading versions. For this marketplace deck, I made all minor edits directly in the doc and left comments for the writer and strategist via Keynote comments. From an editor’s POV, it’s grand.

Converse UX / UI Deck
I expanded my comfort zone with this UX / UI toolkit for Converse. Editing the copy meant understanding the design terminology, asking questions, and making sure H1s were 60 pixels on every page.
Adobe Emails
A little detail I enjoy here is that the verb is “dive in to,” not “dive into.” Those phrasal verbs can be tricky.

A-dec Calculators
This was a new experience, working on calculators for a dental equipment company. Had to consider the formatting of labels and input fields, and all the floating elements. This project also necessitated a full-team dev QA to catch bugs on different devices.
A-dec Copy Templates
I whipped up this copy doc to reflect as closely as possible the two calculators’ designs. Tables within tables. The mirroring made it easier for the designer to know exactly which copy to place where. Copy docs are my happy place.
